The insurance company used doctors that they had authorized to provide opinions against the injured worker. That doctor’s opinions were found by the Judge of Compensation Claims to be more valid than the opinions of the insurance company doctors. Consequently, after a lengthy trial, the Judge awarded the injured worker Permanent Total Disability benefits that will amount to approximately $500,000. Additionally, the injured worker still gets to receive her medical care.
