Recent Orlando Personal Injury Cases

The Orlando personal injury law firm of Vaughan Law Group recently obtained a 3.75 million dollar settlement for a client who was a victim of a motorcycle accident. The client was exiting an interstate off-ramp when in a gradual turn, his motorcycle slid out from under him after contacting a substantial amount of loose debris and construction material. This particular exit was under a DOT contract that had been awarded to a major, nation-wide contractor. Unfortunately, the general contractor did not maintain this particular exit ramp while trucks were crossing back and forth and spilling dirt, gravel and other debris on the roadway. The client slid his motorcycle into a parked vehicle thereby breaking his leg. Shortly after the accident the client began suffering of neck pain. A subsequent diagnosis found a large herniated disk in the cervical area which required surgery. Following surgery the client became an incomplete quadriplegic.

After several years of litigation, and with a trial date pending, the case settled at mediation.
